Mystery Photo time!!!

August 30th, 2010 · 4 Comments · Fun stuff, Junior Learning Unit Newsletters

Well done to all who had a guess with the last photo. The winner was Corey B who collected a $10 gift voucher to Mind Games. It was in fact the bottom of a net on a basketball ring. Too clever everyone!  Lots of people had a go, let’s see if we can beat it this time.

I have been given lots of feedback from the students to make it HARDER and have MORE THAN ONE! So here they are with some clues…

  • Something to do with one of the Junior concert items.
  • You can make one at home to entertain…

  • Something to do with the other Junior concert item
  • Protects from the harsh sun or wet stuff that falls from the sky.

Mystery Pic Challenge

July 27th, 2010 · 21 Comments · Fun stuff

Hello and welcome to the 2010 version on Mystery Pics! Your challenge is to look closely at the picture below, try and identify it and post a comment with your guess. The lucky winner receives a $10 voucher to a local electronics store! Here are some clues to help with your guess…

  • The picture was taken last term during our Inventions DKU topic.
  • It helps to make something that many parents need to ‘get up and go’ in the morning.
  • All cafes have one.
  • It uses up lots of electricity when in use.
  • This is the inside of it, normally hidden from view!

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR GUESS

Welcome back…

April 10th, 2010 · No Comments · Junior Learning Unit Newsletters, Weekly Update, Whats On

Hello everyone and welcome back to Term 2. In the next few weeks there will be lots of photos added to the blog from the fun run and our activities back at school. This week we are looking at…
Rhyming words are our reading focus this week, as it helps us read and helps us speak! Setting reading goals and writing them down, helps to keep away our frown.
Recounts about our holidays will be a focus in our writing sessions as well as each student producing a written piece in a set time limit.
Numeracy has a counting focus, specifically counting money amounts. A vital skill and one that can never be done too much!
DKU changes focus each term and this term our topic is…AMAZING INVENTIONS! Should be great fun with many activities planned to bring out the inner scientist in us all! Our You Can Do It! theme for the term is ORGANISATION (something I am going to go and practice now!)
SEE YOU AT SCHOOL
